Presidential Palace

palace is one of the Presidential Palace, located at the foot of Mount
Gede in West Java, about 103 km from the capital Jakarta.Built in 1742 by Governor General William Baron Gustaaf van Imhoff. The
idea stems from the discovery of the development of emerging sources of
hot water containing 430 Celsius belarang substances and can cure
various diseases.
The area of the palace complex is 26 acres, of the total area, up to now has only about 8000m2 are used for building. The rest is pasture, garden plants, and perennials are arranged as a small forest. Based on the research in collaboration with the Botanical Gardens Cibodas-LIPI, there is a collection of as many as 1334 specimens of plants, 171 species, 132 genera and 61 tribes.
Function
At the Dutch Government Palace Cipanas used for resting place of the Governor-General of the Netherlands, among others, William Baron Gustaaf van Imhoff, Andreas Cornelis De Graaff, Bonafacius Cornelis Van De Jonge and Tjarda Starkenborgh-Stachouwer.
At the time of the Japanese Government Palace Cipanas used for a haven of the Japanese authorities in order to travel from Jakarta Bandung or vice versa.
After the independence of Indonesia, officially the Palace Cipanas established as one of the Presidential Palace of the Republic of Indonesia and its function remains in use as a resting place of President or Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia and his family.
Historical events
Although Cipanas Palace is basically a place to rest, but the palace was once also home to the historic events relating to political, economic, and between nations.
On December 13, 1965, the Palace Cipanas record historical events in the Indonesian economy. Courtroom to witness the main building as a place of President Sukarno led the court to establish his cabinet currency exchange rate changes of Rp. 1000, - to Rp. 1, - known as sanering.
